Resultados Preliminares del nuevo estudio de IDC

Mensaje de Petri Salonem - Presidente IAMCP Internacional

Hi all,

First of all, I would like to thank the ones that helped out to push the IDC survey for IAMCP. The first survey was done and managed by John Payes (included in this email) and thanks to him, we have a tremendous relationship with IDC. We were asked to participate again this year, and I had the pleasure to participate in IDC Software Channel Executive Event in Palo Alto last week where the preliminary results were shown.

This event had ALL major channel executives from different organizations participating and learning about social media and how p2p partnering is evolving. Darren Bibby from IDC Software Channels Research showed the results and people were amazed…. The numbers in 2007 for IAMCP were 6.8 Billion in ecosystem value, and now the numbers are estimated to be 10.1 Billion. This is very good news for us and I had many channel executives to came to me to tell that they are envious to Microsoft that they have such as dedicated crowd. Needless to say that I was very happy.

I do not have any material at hand, but Darren said he would prepare materials for us and also have a session once it becomes available. I just wanted you to know about these preliminary results, IDC even said that they are very conservative numbers.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Petri
